The extensive solution significantly improves both employee workflow and customer experience.
Finland’s largest digital media gala, Grand One, was celebrated on March 27th in Helsinki. This year, the award for Best Digital Service went to Hesburger's revamped order management system. The project also received honorable mentions in the categories of Best Service Design and Best User Experience. Having developed the solution together with Hesburger and technology agency Arado, the awards mark the culmination of our long-running partnership.
The main goal of the overhaul to ease the workload of restaurant staff. These days, a growing number of orders come through digital channels – the new system brings all of them into a single interface. At the same time, features like order tracking and queue visibility have been made more transparent for customers.
The redesign has been built from the ground up in close collaboration with Hesburger employees through regularly held joint workshops. The Grand One judges recognised the importance of this user-centred approach in their congratulatory speech:
"This year’s best digital service winner enhances both customer and employee experiences and goes beyond just being a technology update. With end-user involvement and thorough testing it addresses multi-channel challenges and improves daily operations through usability at its core."
The results speak for themselves: the update frees up 25,000 work hours annually for other tasks – and according to the latest survey, 86% of employees would recommend Hesburger as a workplace.
Since the 1980s, Hesburger has followed the principle of developing its own digital solutions in-house.
"We have chosen Taiste as our development partner because they are able to reliably create exactly the kind of high-quality digital solutions that we need," CEO Kari Salmela says.
Our heartfelt thanks to both the judges and everyone involved in the project – we're looking forward to improving the digital solutions even further!
