In this episode of Taiste Talks, we take a philosophical deep dive into a topic that affects us all: the addictive nature of social media. How should we approach the topic as individuals and digital professionals?
Unless one is living under a rock, it's difficult to avoid social media playing a big part in our lives – whether it's due to personal reasons, work or both. At the same time, we all know that the design patters behind these platforms are based on holding one's attention as effectively as possible. Are we doomed to navigate the cons of these digital environments by ourselves – or are there other ways forward?
Our guest for this episode, Perttu Pölönen, has just released a book on the topic called "Saisinko Huomiosi". Previously, he has made a name for himself as an inventor, futurist and author. Having studied Future Studies at the Singularity University in Silicon Valley, he is also known as an engaging and inspiring public speaker. Here, he is joined by Taiste's UX Designer Valtteri Mäki.
